About 7 Sundays

7 Sundays Art was established in the spring of 2019 by Lycrecia Atkins. Atkins has worked in the art field throughout her career and created 7-S as a way to offer the beauty of high end art at affordable prices.

Atkins previously worked in public relations roles for various entities including the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum and the Will Rogers Museum. She pursued the field further, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Oklahoma and began teaching art history as an adjunct professor.

Atkins has spent most of her life on a family ranch in Oklahoma and has an innate draw to iconic images of the West in art form.

The name 7 Sundays is derived from the history of the area surrounding Atkins’ family ranch in Rose, Oklahoma. The land surrounds the grounds of the last remaining Cherokee Courthouse. Local legend has claimed for generations that the site is where the infamous Judge Parker at one time hung seven outlaws, seven Sundays in a row. True or not true, it is among the many stories that epitomize the history of the West and influence the spirit we see in that culture today.
